Grove exchange involved the addition of two new floors (+/- 1000sq) onto the exiting seven-storey structure. This was a challenging project which required careful coordination between the design and contracting teams. The project involved the removal and storage of the existing roof. The extension of the lift cores was achieved through a combination of concrete and structural steel. The addition of the two new structural steel and bondek floors needed to be done while the remainder of the building continued to be occupied.
The external façade is characterised by the new glazing set back from the raking Y steel hollow section columns. The exiting roof was then modified to suit and re-instated.
